Safety guidance

Safe practice information for Zippy users

Safety is essential for every ride. Review this guide before installation, operation, or first use of the Zippy trolley.

Before you ride

  • Inspect the line, trolley, brake system, power source, and attachments before every use.
  • Only operate the system if you have been trained and are authorized to do so.
  • Confirm the line is suitable for the trolley and that the route is clear of hazards.
  • Do not exceed the recommended operating speed or load range.
  • Stop use immediately if any fault, warning, or abnormal behavior is detected.

Do

  • Perform a pre-use inspection and verify the trolley is fully engaged.
  • Use approved PPE and follow site-specific safety procedures.
  • Keep bystanders clear of the launch and landing zones.
  • Follow the manufacturer instructions for start, stop, and emergency procedures.

Don't

  • Do not use the system in poor weather, lightning, or unstable conditions.
  • Do not operate with damaged cables, brake components, or power connections.
  • Do not overload the trolley or exceed the stated user-weight range.
  • Do not allow unauthorized riders, untrained operators, or unsupervised use.

Key safety topics

Operator readiness

Only trained and authorized users should install, operate, or maintain the system. A site safety review should be completed before first use.

Line and environment

Verify that the zipline route is structurally sound, free of obstructions, and suitable for the trolley before each session.

Emergency procedures

Every operator should know how to stop the trolley, secure the line, and respond to faults or incidents quickly and calmly.

Maintenance

Routine inspections, software checks, and component maintenance should be completed in line with the operating manual and site policy.
